Veneers
If your teeth are cosmetically flawed, the simple act of smiling can be embarrassing.
Veneers placed at Columbia Smiles in Columbia and Cayce, SC, can hide cosmetic imperfections like chips, cracks, stains, and gaps.
Learn how Dr. Nick Pournaras and his team can use veneers to give you the confidence of a stunning smile.
What Are Veneers?
Veneers are thin shells made of porcelain or composite resin that are placed over the front of a tooth to cover imperfections. Dr. Nick offers traditional porcelain veneers as well as minimal-prep veneers to patients of our Columbia-area dental practice.
It's important to understand that veneers do not actually repair dental flaws. However, they are an excellent dentistry option for patients who have healthy teeth but who wish simply to conceal cosmetic imperfections. In just two visits to our inviting office, patients can completely transform their smiles.

Payne Dental Lab, Inc. is a state-of-the-art dental laboratory based in San Clemente, California. Thanks to advanced technology like 3D computer imaging and intraoral cameras at our Columbia, SC, office, Dr. Nick can take detailed images of your teeth so that the lab can customize your veneers.

The people at Columbia Smiles are so awesome, I wasn’t nervous or scared at all! Dr. Nick, Sandra and Kim explained everything as they were doing it and made sure I was as comfortable as possible. View on GoogleWhat Are Minimal-Prep Veneers?
/
Columbia Smiles offers our patients both traditional porcelain veneers and minimal-prep veneers. Like traditional veneers, minimal-prep veneers are placed over the front of a tooth to hide cosmetic imperfections. However, minimal-prep veneers are even thinner than traditional veneers and can be placed without removing any tooth enamel. This means treatment is both quicker and reversible. Contact our practice to learn if minimal-prep veneers are a good option for your smile goals.
How Much Do Dental Veneers Cost?
The cost of dental veneers is unique to each patient and can vary depending on your individual needs and the number of teeth receiving veneers. As with other cosmetic dentistry treatments, veneers are not covered by insurance. To help keep treatment accessible to all our patients, we accept CareCredit® financing, which breaks payments into manageable monthly installments.
If you are interested in learning more about what porcelain veneers can do for you, contact Columbia Smiles today. We proudly serve patients throughout South Carolina.
How To Get the Most From Your Veneers
Porcelain veneers can brighten your smile, uplifting your appearance. To make the most out of your veneers from our Columbia dental office, we recommend you:
Good Oral Hygiene
Patients should brush and floss at least twice a day to prevent plaque buildup and cavities. Using a soft-bristled toothbrush and non-abrasive toothpaste will avoid damage to your veneers.
Don't Smoke
Smoking and tobacco products will stain your teeth and increase your risk of gum disease. If you're a smoker, you should quit before seeking veneers.
Regular Checkups
To keep your smile looking its brightest, you should attend regular cleanings every six months. During these visits, Dr. Nick can examine your veneers and let you know if they need to be replaced.
If You're Not a Candidate For Veneers Consider These Alternatives

Dental Bonding
Using tooth-colored resin, our dentists can lengthen teeth, alter their shape, or close gaps between teeth. The entire process can be completed in just one hour-long appointment.

Teeth Whitening
Our in-office whitening treatment and take-home teeth whitening kits can noticeably brighten your smile more effectively than over-the-counter bleaching products.
